Shelter with a purpose, Clients with a future
Room at the Inn is one of only three emergency shelter providers in the St. Louis County Continuum of Care. With this, they shelter more than two hundred individuals, half of them being children. Not only does Room at the Inn provide a sheltered space, they empower program participants to create solutions to their homelessness through education, referrals, and case management.
While staying at Room at the Inn, children remain in school; referrals for long term care are made based on evaluations and many leave ready for sustainable long term housing. This organization is not only providing shelter, but are investing in individuals and their families, breaking the cycle of homelessness.
Working with WIN
Room at the Inn remained open and operating throughout the pandemic, never shying away from their mission to serve. WIN Warehouse was given the opportunity to help with items such as PPE and cleaning supplies. David Weber always checks WIN first to ensure he is stretching his budget dollars to accommodate the most amount of people and keep the most vulnerable
community safe.
“Providing a safe place for our clients is our top priority. Due to the pandemic, we had to restructure our program and needed extra resources to support that change. WIN has helped to provide quality products at a significantly low cost to our agency. We are grateful for WIN and thank them for helping us to provide a clean and safe place for our clients.”
David Weber, Executive Director
We look forward to the day we can visit David and all of the members of Room at the Inn in their space to see their hearts in action. Until then we will continue to support them in any way possible.
