Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 1402

In this member Success Story, we highlight EAA Chapter 1402 and its commitment to fostering a community of aviation enthusiasts, pilots, and others passionate about aircraft through community engagement and education.

WIN Warehouse Member organizations continuously work to impact and enhance the world around them! Our mission is to make vital inventory and supplies accessible to those nonprofits so they can continue serving their communities to the best of their abilities.

The Experimental Aircraft Association est.1953

The Experimental Aircraft Association creates a space for anyone and everyone by focusing on its four keys to life: friendship, flying, food, and fun.

Paul H. Poberezny, the leader of a small group of aviation enthusiasts, established the first chapter of the EAA in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1953 to aid and assist amateur aircraft builders. Since then, what started as a small group from the Midwest has grown into an international organization that promotes all facets of recreational aviation education and safety.

About EAA Chapter 1402 – Sullivan, MO

Based in Sullivan, Missouri, EAA Chapter 1402 empowers local recreational aviators and aviation buffs by hosting events, workshops, and educational programs where individuals passionate about aircraft can share their knowledge and inspire others to participate within the community.

Age should not limit someone’s pursuit of aviation. Among its many resources, EAA Chapter 1402 offers its Young Eagles program to youth ages 9-17, introducing new generations to the world of all things aircraft.

It takes a village to make the Young Eagle program and various others function. While it is a lot of work for fellow EAA participants, it is one of the reasons why Chapter 1402 members maintain a tight-knit and supportive community.

Additional tools and opportunities for all local EAA chapter members include career planning and job search resources, scholarships, internships, and mentoring.

WIN Warehouse’s Impact

We [WIN Warehouse] are proud to partner with EAA Chapter 1402 to help it successfully serve the community at a meager cost. We have helped the WIN Member stock up on countless items, such as:

  • Tools (for training classes),
  • Plates,
  • Plasticware,
  • Refrigerators,
  • Lights,
  • Gatorade,
  • Cups, and
  • Coolers, to name a few.

WIN has helped EAA grow, maintain its location airplane hangar (Hanger #46) at the Sullivan Regional Airport – KUUV, and sustain the chapter’s entire operation. Our partnership even allowed the organization to construct an air-conditioned and heated simulator room inside Hanger #46 by repurposing leftover pallet racking from their previous WIN orders.
