Recycling for the Needy, headquartered in Rockford, IL, is a nonprofit organization committed to promoting sustainability and fostering hope.
Recycling for the Needy is dedicated to bridging the gap between environmental action and social aid.
Their mission is to recycle tools and machinery that would otherwise be discarded, transforming potential waste into valuable resources for those in need. Providing these items and programs to individuals facing homelessness or other social barriers empowers them to start their own businesses and attain self-sufficiency.

WIN Warehouse’s Impact
Eddie Manasser, CEO of Recycling for the Needy, first reached out to WIN Warehouse in early February 2024, looking for truckloads of items for their large community giveaways in Illinois and their shipments of products to the Middle East, where people are experiencing homelessness and starvation.
Right away, our team got to work putting together truckloads of tools like:
- hammers, string trimmers, flashlights, wrenches, ladders, and drills.
- thousands of backpacks, tote bags, disposable gloves, and pallets of safety shoes.
- household items such as cutting board sets and casserole baking sets.
Very quickly, Recycling for the Needy became one of WIN’s biggest partners.
WIN continues to send Eddie and his team truckloads of products, like clothing, and, from time to time, donations of perishable food and drink items. At their latest community giveaway event in May 2024, over 1,000 packages were distributed to the local Rockford residents in need.
