About Mehlville Fire Protection District
Mehlville Fire Protection District (MFPD) has been “protecting life and property in South St. Louis County since 1953” and provides vital community services:
- Fire and Rescue
- Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
- Fire Inspection and Permits
- Community Paramedicine
The district commits its resources to delivering advanced and cutting-edge operations and services to a 52 square-mile area, including the cities:
- Sunset Hills,
- Green Park, and
- Lakeshire.
Townships within the MFPD service area also include:
- Oakville,
- Mattese,
- Concord Village,
- Sappington and portions of
- Lemay and
- Unincorporated St. Louis County.
Protecting Residents & Communities
MFPD operates out of seven engine houses that are strategically located to facilitate quick response, protecting a resident population of approximately 134,000 and infrastructure, including:
- Single-family Dwellings,
- Multiple Occupancy Apartments,
- Industrial Facilities,
- Two Medical Facilities,
- Office Parks,
- Retail Centers,
- Interstate Highways,
- Major Rail Lines, and
- More than 10 miles of Waterfront.
WIN Warehouse’s Impact
WIN Warehouse has helped Mehlville Fire Protection District save thousands of dollars since they started shopping our inventory.
MFPD joined WIN in 2021 but placed its first order in early 2023—a large order containing 120 single items ranging from hot cups and paper towel dispensers to hand tools and cigarette receptacles—and has been visiting our showroom weekly ever since, becoming WIN’s fifth most frequent Member organization.
Dave Hentrich and Doug Stevenson, two Mehlville Fire Maintenance Team employees who frequent our showroom, are responsible for the maintenance of all the district’s fire facilities, a total of nine, with one in the works.
The MFPD Maintenance Team ensures all firefighters have the supplies they need to keep their living quarters in top shape and, in doing so, keep themselves and their facilities ready to respond and protect their communities.
Cleaning and maintenance products that Dave and Doug purchase often for the MFPD’s seven firehouses include:
- Soap,
- Laundry Detergent,
- Lysol Sprays,
- Bleach,
- Dish Soap, and
- More!
Mehlville Fire Protection District’s 8th Firehouse
“We have seven firehouses, a training facility, an administration office, and they’re building a new firehouse,” Doug Stevenson told WIN Member Services Coordinator Len Demmer during their most recent visit to our showroom.
“That’s what we needed all those chairs for,” he added, recalling their last batch of orders consisting of 20 office chairs, tons of paper towels, microwaves, floor mats, ladders, and movers dollies.
Other items Dave and Doug have collected during their weekly showroom visits include tools like:
- Fiberglass Hammers,
- Wrenches,
- Solder Wire,
- Wrecking bars, and
- Utility Knives.
To ensure they always get the most savings with each order, the MFPD consistently checks our available inventory through the WIN online product catalog or in person at our showroom before placing an order. And we urge all current and prospective Members to do the same.

WIN Warehouse is a 501(c)(3) public charity with a commitment to helping nonprofit organizations receive the essential supplies to further their revitalizing impact on their communities.
Our mission is to provide value and mutual sustainability by connecting our Member nonprofit organizations with excess inventory from corporate donors available to browse and shop from in our WIN online product catalog and in person at our showroom.
The WIN showroom is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, for all WIN Members to visit to browse our inventory and to make an order. No appointment necessary!
