Their Mission
DOORWAYS is an interfaith nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide housing and support services for individuals and families affected by HIV. In 1988, they originated as a provider of compassionate hospice care dedicated to providing comfort to and preserving the dignity of individuals succumbing to HIV. As medications and treatment evolved, their focus shifted from caring for the dying to rebuilding and supporting lives for the living.
They work to prevent homelessness by offering six different housing programs that cater to various needs, including assisted living, emergency housing, permanent housing, and subsidies. Additionally, they are committed to empowering self-sufficiency by offering individualized care, behavioral health counseling, employment assistance, self-development programming, community activities, and access to valuable resources.
