Finding the right products for your nonprofit at a great price is always exciting. But when it’s time to get those items to your organization, shipping is another cost to factor into your budget.
At WIN Warehouse, we want to help your nonprofit’s budget go further. With carrier price increases occurring, we’re here to help you understand what’s changing, how WIN Warehouse handles shipping costs, and the shipping options available to your nonprofit.
Understanding Shipping Rate Increases
If you’ve seen your shipping costs rise from one year to the next, you’re not alone. Carriers routinely adjust their rates, often announcing changes during the fourth quarter.
For example, UPS Ground increased 5.9%(opens in new tab) on average starting December 22, 2025. Additionally, UPS increased the prices of various surcharges it applies to certain shipments. This mirrors the changes they implemented in 2023 and 2024.
Factors include keeping up with inflation, balancing supply and demand, adjusting for higher fuel prices, and covering costs for improved service offerings.
How Shipping Works at WIN Warehouse
Even as shipping rates increase, WIN Warehouse helps members keep overall costs as low as possible(opens in new tab).
Nonprofits Local to St. Louis
If your nonprofit organization is local to St. Louis, you can pick up your order at our warehouse at no additional cost. We have a showroom and dedicated pickup station to make getting your order convenient, and our team will be here to help you load your items.
Other Nonprofit Locations
Here are a few things to keep in mind when having items shipped to your nonprofit’s location within the US.
- Pay the Actual Shipping Cost: We pass the shipping cost directly to you with no markup. What you pay is simply based on the dimensions and weight of your items.
- Save Money by Ordering in Higher Volumes: Ordering in bulk lowers the product cost and the shipping cost per item. This lets you get more of what your organization needs while making the most of your budget.
- Look at the Big-Picture Savings: With products at WIN already up to 90% off retail, shipping costs may be higher than the handling fee. Even with shipping, ordering from WIN is still significantly less expensive than from retailers.
WIN Warehouse provides some UPS shipping services, including UPS Ground, to help streamline the process for nonprofit members. If you prefer, you can always make your own transportation arrangements.
LTL Freight Shipping
Orders weighing more than 150 pounds are considered freight and require an LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) freight carrier.
You can choose any carrier you’d like, and we’ll provide the information you need. Or, we can arrange for freight transportation with a third-party freight broker with no markup. We ask that you coordinate the shipping date and time with us in advance so we can have your order packaged and ready to go.
Ordering By the Truckload
For nonprofits that need products in larger quantities, WIN Warehouse’s Truckload Program offers full trailer loads of donated products at incredibly low prices. Recent truckloads have featured a variety of products, including air purifiers, hand trucks, industrial paper products, and shelving. Availability is limited, and products are offered on a first-come-first-serve basis. Be sure to check our list of truckload donations(opens in new tab) regularly for new additions.
