Each year a handful of our local St. Louis non-profit organizations spend the day receiving hundreds of gently used suits and professional attire items collected through the Annual Men’s Wearhouse Suit Drive held in July. On September 12th, our friends from Criminal Justice Ministry, Doorways, Employment Connection, Fathers & Families Support Center, Mission: St. Louis, Transition Center of St. Louis and VA St. Louis came to WIN Warehouse with empty vehicles and broad smiles to celebrate one of our favorite days with us.
All of these non-profits excel in helping disadvantaged clients find employment, including veterans, the homeless, ex-offenders, and at-risk youth. We’ve gotten to experience the confidence change in a person when they put on a suit for the first time and it’s life changing not only for the client but for each person around them as well.
Sid Officer, Communications Director of Fathers & Families Support Center, says, “WIN Warehouse and its legendary Suit Distribution helps FFSC serve over 1,000 fathers each year. As part of FFSC’s 6-week Family Formation program that transforms men into responsible parents, we give our clients suits from WIN Warehouse, so that they can be confident in interviews when finding a job to support their children. Thank you for making a BIG difference in the lives of so many, especially families in our community.”
Also, a huge thank-you goes to everyone that donated suits to Men’s Wearhouse and to Men’s Wearhouse for another successful year in making this distribution possible and the organizations we work with that are empowering our community with confidence to gain successful employment. We get to do what we love every day because of you!
